Colorado is rich with culture from the performing arts to visual arts.
Both of the major metropolitan areas, Denver and Colorado Springs,
have convention centers and active theater communities. Many smaller
cities surrounding Denver have their own community art centers that
offer amazing professional performances, along with art classes, and
galleries. The Denver metro area has a variety of artists and there
are many venues throughout the area specifically for performing artists,
musicians, and visual artists to display their talents. Denver is
active in the movie production business as well, offering many opportunities
for actors and related careers.
Colorado hosts a number of wonderful Operas, Broadway productions,
classic musicals, satires, comedies, orchestras and exhibits throughout
the year. Below is a list of venues that cater specifically to the
arts in Colorado including the Denver Performing Arts Complex; the
nations second largest performing arts center covering four Denver
city blocks.
Not mentioned below, but worth recognition, is the Colorado Shakespeare
Festival held in Boulder every summer on the University of Colorado
